Audio analysis stays on the device

Recording and wildlife identification use the bundled Perch model on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Shotgames does not receive your recordings or use them for advertising or analytics.

Local storage and iCloud

The app keeps your journal, discoveries, listening reports, badges, quiz progress, preferences, and saved recordings on the device. Journal entries, Night Watch reports, badges, and quiz progress sync between your Apple devices through your own iCloud account. There is no Shotgames server or separate Shotgames account.

Your place and nearby species

The local species filter uses biodiversity records bundled with the app, combined with an approximate location, a place you choose, or your time zone. Your location is used on device and is not sent to Shotgames.

Optional online services

Identification works offline. Online photos, articles, and reference calls use Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons when enabled. Requests include species names and normal connection details, such as an IP address, but not your microphone recording. iCloud sync and App Store purchases use Apple’s services.

Permissions and your choices

You choose when to start and stop listening, including scheduled Night Watch sessions. You can change microphone and location permissions in system settings. Deleting the app removes local data; data synced through iCloud is managed separately through your Apple account. Shotgames has no copy to delete on your behalf.

No ads or tracking

Wild Noise has no advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics. Apple handles distribution, Pro purchases, and iCloud under its own privacy policy. Shotgames does not receive your payment details.
